How to Apply for the DBN ETP Grant 2026 (Cohort 2) - Step by Step Guide
The Development Bank of Nigeria is currently accepting applications for their 2026 Entrepreneurship Training Programme (ETP). This is a free programme that ends with a pitching competition where selected Nigerian businesses win grants. No loan. No collateral. Just train, qualify and pitch.
Here's exactly how to apply.
What is the DBN ETP?
It's DBN's flagship free business training programme for Nigerian small business owners. You learn online at your own pace, get shortlisted for a physical workshop, then pitch your business for grant funding.
It runs twice a year — Cohort 1 in June, Cohort 2 in November. Cohort 2 applications are open now.
Who Can Apply?
Any Nigerian running a business — big or small, any sector. Food, fashion, tech, farming, logistics, services — all welcome.
Step by Step — How to Apply
Step 1 — Create your free account
Go to 👉 https://learning.devbankng.com/register
Fill in your details and verify your email. This is your gateway to everything.
Step 2 — Enroll in the 4 mandatory courses
Once logged in, enroll in ALL 4 of these courses:
- Accounting & Bookkeeping
- Sustainability for MSMEs
- Marketing and Sales Techniques
- Credit Management/Access to Finance
You can find them at 👉 https://learning.devbankng.com/classes
Step 3 — Complete all courses before September 30th and score 80% minimum
Each course has quizzes and a final assessment. You must score at least 80% in every single one. Don't rush — read the material properly before taking the quiz.
Step 4 — Wait for your workshop invitation
Once you complete all 4 courses with 80%+, DBN will send an email inviting you to apply for the in-person workshop. Check your email regularly.
Step 5 — Attend the physical workshop
Workshops are held across Nigeria's six geopolitical zones. If you're shortlisted, you attend the one closest to you.
Step 6 — Pitch for the grant
After the workshop, top performing businesses pitch their ideas. Selected businesses receive grant funding.
Tips to Actually Get Shortlisted
- Finish all 4 courses — most people register and never complete even one
- Score above 80% — aim for 90%+ to stand out
- Use an email you check daily — all DBN communication comes by email
- Have your business documents ready — CAC registration, financials, etc. will matter at pitching stage
- Write a solid business plan before you get to the pitching stage
Apply Immediately
DBN hasn't published a specific application deadline for Cohort 2. But the November workshop date means the course completion deadline is coming soon. Apply today and start the courses immediately.
