Important Things to Know Before You Register
Hundreds of thousands of Nigerians have applied for the initiative and not all applicants can be onboarded at once due to the limited number of training centres equipped to SUPA standards. The government is expanding access and training more Nigerians in phases.
This means:
- Register immediately — the earlier you apply the better your chances of being onboarded in the current phase
- You must have a valid NIN to complete your KYC
- Attendance is critical — the ₦35,000 monthly stipend requires 90% attendance. Missing training regularly means losing your stipend
- Training is conducted at accredited centres across Nigeria — your nearest centre will be assigned after screening
Insider Tips for a Successful Registration
Register now — do not wait. Spaces fill up in phases and later applicants may have to wait for the next batch
Choose your trade carefully — pick the trade you are most passionate about or already have some experience in. You will be spending months learning it
-Have your NIN ready — you cannot complete KYC without it. If your NIN is not linked to your phone number, resolve this at any NIMC office first
Use a working email address — all communication from ITF will come by email. Use one you check regularly
Show up consistently — the ₦35,000 stipend is only paid for 90% attendance. Missing sessions frequently will cost you money
Common Mistakes to Avoid
- Registering without a valid NIN — you will be stuck at the KYC stage
- Selecting a trade you have no interest in just because it seems popular
- Using someone else's details to register — the KYC process verifies your identity
- Not completing the KYC after signing up — your application is incomplete until KYC is submitted
- Waiting too long to register — phases fill up and you may be pushed to a later batch
