GrowthGia Agro Grant 2026 — Five Nigerian Crop Farmers Can Win ₦1,000,000 Each to Scale Their Agribusiness (Deadline: August 28)

Five Nigerian crop farmers are about to receive ₦1,000,000 each to scale their agricultural businesses. The question is whether you will be one of them.

The GrowthGia Agro Business Grant 2026 is a funding initiative designed to support Nigerian farmers who are actively building sustainable agricultural businesses. GrowthGia is committing a total grant fund of ₦5,000,000, with five successful applicants each receiving ₦1,000,000 to invest in their agricultural businesses.

No loan. No equity. No repayment. Applications close August 28, 2026.

What is GrowthGia?

GrowthGia is a Nigerian business support organisation that has witnessed firsthand how targeted financial support helps determined entrepreneurs expand production, purchase equipment, reach new markets and create employment opportunities in their communities.

Through this initiative, GrowthGia aims to strengthen Nigeria's agricultural ecosystem by empowering entrepreneurs with the resources needed to scale their farming businesses.  This is not a large multilateral programme with hundreds of winners — it is a focused, direct grant to five real Nigerian farmers who are ready to grow.

What You Get

₦1,000,000 in direct grant funding : paid to each of the five selected farmers

No repayment : this is a grant, not a loan

No equity taken : you keep full ownership of your farming business

Business mentorship and support :beyond the financial assistance — GrowthGia provides guidance to help you deploy the funding effectively

Who Can Apply

To qualify you must:

- Have CAC registration and operations based in Nigeria

- Have been in active operation for at least 1 year

- Be actively contributing to food sustainability

- Demonstrate readiness to grow, scale and create impact

You must also be an operational farmer residing in Nigeria, own and actively manage an existing farming business, have an active LinkedIn profile and be connected with GrowthGia on LinkedIn.

The LinkedIn requirement is important— before you apply, make sure your LinkedIn profile is active and that you are connected with GrowthGia on LinkedIn. This is an eligibility requirement, not just a recommendation.

What You Need to Submit

The application takes 15 to 20 minutes to complete. Before you begin, prepare the following:

- Your business details — CAC registration, years of operation, farming sector

- A detailed breakdown of what you will use the ₦1,000,000 for — be specific

- The expected impact of the grant on your farming business — jobs to be created, production to be expanded, communities to benefit

- A business proposal document — this must be uploaded before you submit the form. You cannot submit without it

Important rules before applying:

- Only one application is allowed per business — submit once and submit correctly

- Only shortlisted applicants will be contacted

- Submission does not guarantee funding

Insider Tips for a Strong Application

- Your proposal document is your most important asset — the form takes 15-20 minutes but your uploaded proposal is what the selection committee reads most carefully. Treat it like a grant application, not a casual letter. Clearly state your business background, what the ₦1,000,000 will fund specifically, how it will be deployed over time and what measurable impact it will create

- Be specific about how you will use the money — "to expand my farm" is not a use of funds. "To purchase one additional irrigation pump at ₦350,000, hire two seasonal farm workers at ₦150,000 total and purchase certified tomato seedlings for the next planting season at ₦500,000" is a use of funds. Reviewers fund specificity, not vagueness

- Show your track record — you must have been operating for at least one year. Use that history. How many growing seasons have you completed? How many tonnes of produce have you sold? How many people does your farm currently employ? Real operational history builds credibility

- Connect with GrowthGia on LinkedIn before applying — this is a stated eligibility requirement. Go to LinkedIn, find GrowthGia, send a connection request and wait for it to be accepted before submitting your application

- Demonstrate food sustainability contribution — GrowthGia specifically looks for farmers actively contributing to food sustainability. Show how your farming operations contribute to food security — volume of produce supplied to local markets, communities served, reduction of post-harvest loss, sustainable farming practices used

Common Mistakes to Avoid

- Applying without CAC registration — this is a hard requirement

- Not having an active LinkedIn profile before applying

- Submitting more than one application — this will disqualify you

- Uploading a vague or unprepared proposal — the proposal is the core of your application

- Being unclear about how the ₦1,000,000 will be specifically deployed
